Gran Canaria

In the middle of the Atlantic Ocean a multi-faceted destination is awaiting for you to spend your holidays... a little island called Gran Canaria. It is a dream island with amazing beaches and wonderful sands in which you could relax, enjoy the glorious sunshine and pass a gorgeous holidays with the whole family.
However, Gran Canaria is not only sun and beaches. The island has a spectacular mountainous interior formed by ancient volcanic activity, where you will be able to practise a lot of different activites, like rock/free climbing, go hiking, photography, span class and so on.

The greatest natural attraction of Gran Canaria is the climate, which makes it an ideal all year round holiday destination. Temperatures ranging from about 21º to 29º during the year, but Gran Canaria is noted for its rich variety of micro climates. Generally speaking though, the average daytime high ranges from 20°C in winter, to 26°C in summer. Some cold nights occur in winter, but lows below 10°C are unknown near the coast. Inland the climate is still mild but mountainous areas see the occasional frost or snow.
If you come here (we hope it) you will arrive to the Gran Canaria Airport, which is pretty big. The reason is the large number of aircraft and passengers which pass through it each year. Or maybe you are in another island and you travel by ship then you will gt to the Port of La Luz and the Port of Las Nieves, placed in the municipality of Agaete (in the nort of the island).

Las Canteras

In the island you can use our public transport or you can rent a car, however you are going to drive on the superhighways that link Las Palmas de Gran Canaria with the South of the island (GC1, GC2, and GC31, and dual carriageways GC4 and GC5). The western and the northwestern parts, with the fewest inhabitants, are linked only with highway. Somnething really interesting is the plan for a railway network linking the capital with the south. This have been approved by both the Gran Canaria Cabildo and the Canary Islands Government, and it will make transport easier between these importat points of the island.
