Isla de Lobos

Isla de Lobos, is a beutiful island between Fuerteventura and Lanzarote, is only 4.4 square kilometres in area.
It got its name from the Spanish word for seals- lobos marinos because there were once many seals on this island. Unfortunately, soldiers killed the seals on this island. However, the island has got many other animals. in fact, only animals live there today, not people.
This tiny island has also got some unique plants and birds, these exist only on Isla de Lobos. For this reason in
1982, the European Community declared Isla de Lobos a protected area, and in 1994, it officially became a nature park.  Because there aren´t any hotels or people living in the island, it is easy to preserve its natural beuty.
However, there are still strict rules for visitors. Visitors must walk only on the desinated paths. They musn´t bring
pets and the must throw their litter into rubbish bins. Finally, visitros mustn´t make loud nosises and disturb
the atmosphere of this peaceful island.

  1. Isla de Lobos tiene para mí una de las mejores playas del archipiélago. Me gusta mucho porque la tienen muy bien cuidada. Muy buen destino para ir cuando estés de vacaciones en Fuerteventura. Felicidades por el blog.
